My condolences and prayers to Tom’s family and friends. For all of us that had met Tom first on the business side, it was Tom’s humanity and kindness towards people and his focus on creating and developing solutions that helped people that leave lasting memories. Tom’s Letters from the Berkshires were insightful and welcome in the chaotic world we find ourselves in.

I will be forever grateful that during my time at Lynch, Ryan and Associates, I had many thoughtful and fascinating conversations with Tom on a wide variety of subjects. He was extremely well-read and had such a curious mind. I remember very vividly that upon his return from a trip to Africa, he gifted me with a beautifully carved woodwind type instrument that also had strings on it. I was gobsmacked by his thoughtfulness and generosity. I am looking at this beautiful instrument as I write these lines. My heart goes out to his family, his colleagues, and the many people who called him friend. He will be greatly missed.

Tom was a renaissance man in every sense; a warrior, a gifted musician, possessed of a keen mind and most of all, he was a truth teller. I wish you fair winds and following seas on your last passage..RIP.

So sorry to hear about Tom's passing. We first met some 15-20 years ago during my time working with Children's Friend and volunteering at the Big Dipper ice cream festival. Tom was one of those "first one there, last one to leave" type of guys. Such a hard worker, almost as hard as Karen, lol! ;)

I started reading Letters from the Berkshires during Covid. I didn't always agree with Tom, but I did appreciate his robust knowledge of history, his application of historical events to todays world and his detailed stories of serving this great country...and his love for family and friends.

My sincerest condolences to Karen, their girls and the extended family. May Tom RIP.

I, too, started reading the workers' compensation blog and later on enjoyed his stories of the past and take on current events. Sad to hear of his passing. He had a well-lived life!

my sincere condolences to Tom's family and friends, and readership. I followed Tom's WC blog beginning around 2000, and the Berkshires iteration. I enjoyed his wit, compassion, and fierce sense of promoting what was good, and calling out what was bad. I will miss him.
